Brio Coffeeworks

Roasters

This month, Brothers Coffee goes back to our Vermont roots. While living in the Burlington area, it wasn’t uncommon to find some fresh Brio coffee in the local grocery stores. Despite now operating on the opposite coast, we’re excited to partner this month with one of our favorite coffee roasters, Brio.

Vermont has a rich coffee history. It is the home of coffee companies that range from large roaster such as Green Mountain Coffee Roasters (now officially part of Keurig Dr Pepper) to the more behind-the-scenes coffee testers such as Coffee Enterprises, who are responsible for quality control for many of the world’s largest coffee companies. Vermont is also the proud home of many coffee-related non-profits, such as our partners Grounds for Health and our friends Food 4 Farmers. Despite this huge coffee culture, Brio was one of the first “3rd Wave” coffee roasters in the area, so they had the unique opportunity of introducing many Vermonters to a new side of coffee.

Brio is a women owned and operated company. They donate to Food 4 Farmers and their co-founder Magda Van Dusen is on the board. They recently donated to another friend of Brothers called Generator VT to help them build PPE – specifically face shields – for the medical community.

When buying green coffee, Brio always makes sure they understand how much money the producers are receiving and generally pay far more than fair trade prices.

We are excited to introduce our roasters to one of our favorite roasters. Enjoy!
