PT’s Coffee

Roasters

While PT’s Coffee has won more awards than we can fit in this space, what we love most about this Kansas roaster is that they were one of the pioneers of direct trade. It’s not often we come across a roaster that was founded in 1993 – almost ancient, when compared to many of our selected roasters – that continues to stay at the forefront of the ever-shifting coffee-culture. But PT’s is all that and more.

Almost 80% of the coffee sold by PT’s comes via direct trade. When working with their producers, PT’s pays at least 25% over fair price or C-Market value for any coffees rated 88 or higher. While constant visits to source can end up being expensive for roasters, PT’s promises to visit each and every one of their producers at least once a year, and many times more. They only work with producers that farm coffee sustainably, helping both their local environment and communities.

Jacob White, PT’s green buyer, along with farmer Fernando Diaz, who grows the Santa Ana coffee many of our subscribers received.

We want to thank you, our subscribers for your continued support. We love introducing our favorite roasters to you and – together – financially supporting them. This is especially true now, as PT’s Coffee has already had to lay-off many of their staff due to lost accounts as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. We hope if you get coffee in addition to your Brothers Coffee subscription, you would consider purchasing from some of the roasters we have worked with in the past. They could really use the help! You can find and read about all of them at www.Blog.BrothersCoffee.co.
