One Village Coffee
Roasters
There aren’t a lot of companies that go through the process of becoming a certified B Corporation – less than 3,000 in over 64 countries – a certification for businesses that balance profit with purpose. There are even fewer companies that can brag they are one of the founding B Corporation companies, but One Village Coffee is one of the visionary companies that signed on to make the certification happen.
One Village started in 2007 with the idea of using coffee to bring people together, thus the name “One Village.” Their latest step towards this goal has been to merge with a farmer collective called Shared-X. Shared-X is owned by their farmers and helps these farmers grow better coffee as well as other crops. Since this was a merger, that makes One Village Coffee the first roaster we have worked with (that we know of) that is owned by coffee farmers!
One Village’s stewardship initiatives don’t end there. They have donated thousands of pounds of coffee. They have paid over $100k above fair trade premiums to their farmers to ensure quality of life. They only use compostable coffee bags.
We’re proud to be working with One Village this month!
