Brothers Coffee has selected Larry’s Coffee for our February roaster because they are the whole package. From their process of importing coffee, to their office, packaging, and even transportation, they are obsessed with finding new and innovative ways to improve systems and help others.

In addition, Larry’s passion has always been about discovering new and unique coffees to roast and blend. To him and his team, it’s not just about great coffee, but about unique coffee. It’s this mission that has set them up to become the company they are today, using the art of coffee as a platform to invest in others.

Here’s a few projects Larry’s Coffee has running:

• Larry’s is a founding member of Cooperative Coffees, the first and still the only U.S. cooperative of independent roasters exploring Fair Trade beans directly from farmers.
• They delivered their coffee via a school bus modified to run on vegetable oil, which they secured from local businesses.
• Larry’s has replaced that bus with a biodiesel van to make deliveries.
• They have 5 cisterns, helping them store 2,500 gallons of rain water. They use this water for their bathrooms and garden.
• They use reflective flooring, lots of insulation, and large windows to keep their electricity consumption as low as possible.
• They generate electricity with solar panels on the outside of their facilities.
• Larry’s Coffee uses reclaimed materials where possible.
• And much, much more!

Of course, Larry’s coffee is slow-roasted, fair trade, shade-grown and 100% organic as well!
